NAR Choses Media Executive Nykia Wright As Their Interim CEO

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has chosen Nykia Wright as its interim CEO, effective from November 20. Wright, formerly the CEO of the Chicago Sun-Times and a co-founder of SonicMessenger, a software-as-a-service startup focusing on measuring audience engagement through smart audio, brings her expertise from diverse fields.

Additionally, Wright serves on the boards of the American Cancer Society and the Better Government Association. She is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, her alma mater.

Wright will be stepping into the role previously held by Bob Goldberg, who announced his planned retirement in June. Goldberg will continue to support NAR as an executive consultant during the transition. The organization is actively seeking a permanent CEO.

NAR President Tracy Kasper, a Realtor from Nampa, Idaho, and broker-owner of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Silverhawk Realty, expressed her excitement about welcoming Nykia as the interim CEO. Kasper emphasized Wright’s experience in driving organizational transformation, which positions her well to advance NAR’s strategy, vision, and cultural initiatives. Wright also shared her perspective on joining NAR, emphasizing the organization’s advocacy for empowering those who help families achieve the dream of homeownership across America. She expressed her honor in being part of the organization at a crucial moment when opportunities to shape the evolving real estate landscape have never been more significant. Wright looks forward to working closely with NAR’s talented staff in the coming months.
